Most people I work with these days already know that branding isn’t just about the logo and colour palette. They know it’s about their values, their mission, their ideal client etc. but they are still surprised by some of the “unexpected” things they also get when they go through the branding process with me.

The obvious word is clarity, but what does that look like? What does it actually mean to have clarity of your brand?

Firstly, for independent, founder led businesses, it’s getting to know yourself a little better. Discovering what matters to you and what doesn’t. What success looks like to you and what doesn’t – it’s usually a surprise for people to find out that loads of money and a fancy car isn’t actually their idea of success at all!
It can also be realising that you abolutely can bring your personal principles, political standing, and values into your business too.

A deeper undertanding of your audience also surprises my clients. They have mostly all done the “ideal client avatar” before – what do they look like, where do they shop, what car do they drive etc. etc. – but my process get you deep inside their heads (not in a creepy “Being John Malkovich” way though – btw, if you’ve never seen that film I suggest you do. It’s still one of my favourite all time films!) to really know your audience and how you can help them (and also, importantly, what makes them decide to buy).

Another surprise for my clients is finding a new sense of purpose. Realising that what you’re doing matters, and has meaning to you and others – this leads seemlessly into making sales way less “icky”. Once you see what you offer means to others, not selling it becomes a huge disservice to your audience (and no-one wants to be selfish and gatekeep your knowledge all to yourself!).

Marketing also because an effortless breeze! Knowing the transformation your business can make to others, how your business works, who your audience is, and who you are, means marketing content practically writes itself! (OK, you do still have to write and design your content, but you will know exactly what you want to say all the goddam time!)

The last surprise (I feel like Cilla now – jeez, that aged me 😬) is my clients realising where they want to take their businesses. A lot of people I work with haven’t really thought too much about the future beyond finances, but I get you really looking into the future to have big goals to aim for and a real vision for the future (it’s like manifesting but in a professional business context!).

If you’re ready to start really discovering who you, your business, and your audience are then, book in a free virtual coffee chat with me (although I’ll probably have a tea with me) and let’s see where it’ll take us.
